Why did you leave your big bank to come here?

I had a very successful career working in a megabank and I became more and more frustrated with the level of service I was able to provide. Too many tasks were taken out of my control and were handled by people farther and farther away from the client. The service breaks by these distant teams became more frequent. In addition, the big banks became too selective about the clients they wanted to serve. For instance, they would only take new clients if the relationship was at least $10 million. Given the universe of clients having fiduciary needs below that level, it was a real frustration not being allowed to service them.

What do you love about Cypress?

I joined Cypress because it was a breath of fresh air. A company focused on the client. Many say that, but this organization cared and walked the talk. It was an opportunity to join a firm and take advantage of the dislocation happening in the “megabank” world. Being able to provide services for all clients and have administrative decisions made locally was a true difference maker. In addition, it was a very flat organization. I had the ability to bring my many years of experience and have influence on Company policy, procedures and service standards. The opportunity to join a firm truly focuses on the relationships, was exciting. Our firm has a strong family-like culture….we want to know our customers so well that they become part of our “family”.

What gets you excited about coming to work on Monday?

The opportunity to work with clients and address their needs in a way I was not able to in the past. Additionally, I enjoy telling more people about our story. The professional community has been extremely open to introducing new clients and it is fun meeting so many new people looking for what Cypress has to offer. “Do you have a few minutes, cause I would like to tell you about Cypress.
